About Arts Explosion

Arts Explosion is an annual program held the third week of July and held at the Stephens County Fairgrounds & Expo Center in Duncan. Teaching artists engage with students and teach various artistic disciplines that challenge each person’s creativity and imagination. Displayed art at the end of the week highlights the students’ talents at the Family Night Reception.

Early registration for Arts Explosion will begin in March-April. Limited scholarships are available for students who qualify for financial assistance. All CTAC events and updates can always be found on Chisholm Trail Arts Council’s Facebook page. We hope to see YOUR child at Arts Explosion. Thank you for sharing your children with CTAC and giving them a chance to create ART at an early age!

Program History

Arts Explosion (AE) first began around 1991. Classes were once held at the Simmons Center for several years, but once the program outgrew this space, AE was moved to the Stephens County Fair & Expo Center.

Originally, Arts Explosion focused on students who had completed third, fourth, and fifth grades. The AE program has now grown to include ALL ages – Kindergarten through 12th grade. Arts Explosions hosts approximately 150 students each year and spaces fill up FAST!

2027 Schedule & Prices:  

(Grades = what grade is your child currently in as of May 2027 or will have just completed, NOT going into)

GROUP I   (3rd – 5th grades)  

• $80  – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

GROUP II (K – 2nd grades)

• $50  – 1:00 pm – 2:45 pm

GROUP III (6th – 12th grades) 

• $50  – 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Family Night Reception (Artwork Pick-up): Friday, July 23th, 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

*Early enrollment begins around mid March and ends June 30th; Late enrollment +$10 starts July 1st.
