ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Hollis Howard is a graduate of the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha, Oklahoma and holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the Institute de Allende, san Miguel de Allende, Gto., Mexico. He also studied at MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire, a secluded, prestigious estate for fine arts. He worked two years for the Bureau of Indian Affairs building art departments in the Indian Schools of Western Oklahoma. Hollis has captured many top prizes in a variety of media and subjects. However, it is his poignant watercolors of animal life, landscapes, and portrait work that have won him the greatest praise. He now paints full time in his new studio near Sterling, OK where he resides with his wife Kay.
